A straight equipment swap on existing usable ductwork is 1 to 2 days. New ductwork, attic or crawlspace runs, or first-time installs extend to 3 to 5 days. Timeline confirmed in the written quote.

Should I repair or replace my HVAC system?

Rule of thumb: if the repair cost is more than 50% of a new system's price and the unit is over 10 years old, replacement is usually the better long-term call. We give you both numbers so you can decide.

How do you size HVAC systems?

With an ACCA Manual J load calculation. This accounts for insulation, window placement, infiltration, and orientation rather than just square footage. Manual J is the industry standard and prevents oversizing.

Are heat pumps a good choice in Western Massachusetts?

Modern cold-climate heat pumps work well in Western Massachusetts down to roughly 5°F. Below that, most homes need a backup heat source. We walk through the tradeoffs based on your existing fuel costs and the current Mass Save rebate amount.

Does Mass Save offer rebates for new HVAC systems?

Yes. Massachusetts offers significant rebates for high-efficiency heat pumps and other qualifying equipment through Mass Save. Eligibility and amounts change regularly. Confirm current rules at masssave.com. We factor the current rebate into the written quote.

Do you do duct cleaning?

We do ductwork repair, restoration, and modification -including sealing leaks and resizing undersized returns. Full mechanical duct cleaning is a specialty service that some homeowners want; we can recommend a partner if needed.

What does an annual HVAC tune-up include?

Cooling: filter inspection, coil cleaning, refrigerant pressure check, electrical inspection, condensate drain clearing, thermostat check. Heating: burner cleaning, flame sensor service, ignition check, combustion analysis, gas pressure check, heat exchanger visual inspection, safety switch operation. Both include a written report.

What are typical warranty terms on a new system?

Bryant equipment is covered under manufacturer warranties up to 10 years on most parts when registered through an authorized dealer. Eastern Heating warranties installation labor for 1 year as standard.

What's the difference between Eastern Heating and a national franchise or a one-truck operator?

One-truck operators are often cheapest but cannot fabricate sheet metal, carry limited inventory, and offer limited warranty follow-up. National franchises route calls through dispatchers, change technicians each visit, and charge premiums for marketing overhead. Eastern Heating is a family-run local shop with in-house sheet metal fabrication and 40 years in the valley. See how we compare for a side-by-side.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, check, and major credit cards. For larger installations we work with financing partners; terms depend on credit and the lender.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes. Light commercial HVAC and commercial kitchen sheet metal including range hoods and makeup-air systems. Industrial-scale work is outside our scope.

How do I get a quote?

Call (413) 592-2399 during office hours or fill out the form on the contact page. For installation pricing we schedule an on-site visit -accurate pricing requires it.
