Honest comparison

Eastern vs. national franchises vs. one-truck operators.

Three kinds of HVAC contractors serve the Pioneer Valley. Each is good at different things. Here is where we fit honestly.

The honest take

If you need 24/7 emergency dispatch and you're comfortable paying for the corporate overhead that funds it, a national franchise will get someone to your house at 2 AM. If you want the absolute lowest price and you do not care about warranty paperwork or sheet metal fabrication, a one-truck operator can sometimes beat anyone on a simple repair.

Eastern Heating is built for the middle: a family-run local shop with the trade credentials and infrastructure of a bigger company. We do not compete on after-hours emergencies. We compete on doing the job right the first time with people who will still be answering the phone in five years.

When to pick someone else

Three situations where we are not the right call:

  • Friday night emergency in January. We are not on call. Use an emergency-dispatch service or your utility's hardship line.
  • You need work done outside our service area. We serve the Pioneer Valley. For a job in Worcester or Boston, you want someone local to that market.
  • You need industrial-scale commercial work. Our commercial work is light commercial and kitchen hood scale, not industrial mechanical contracting.
